Sabin Boily

Sabin Boily, PhD., Eng.: Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Physics from the École Polytechnique de Montréal and a Master’s and Doctorate in Energy and Materials Science from the INRS, Sabin has also conducted post-doctoral work in metallurgy at the University of Laval. He received the Gold Medal from the Governor General of Canada for his doctoral thesis. He has produced more than 100 publications and conference presentations.

Mr. Boily was a member of the scientific staff of the Hydro-Quebec research Institute (IREQ) from 1993 to 2000. He participated actively in the development of nano-crystalline materials, in particular for the production of hydrogen tanks. He was the founding president of Minutia Group Inc., a technology company dedicated to the development, production, formation, industrial integration and marketing of nano-technological materials.

Sabin was President and CEO of Gestion Valeo s.e.c from 2009 to 2012, working in valuation and marketing of high value-added technologies and as a business consultant to technology companies. He was the Director of Innovation and Industry Relations at École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) from 2012 to 2014. Five services were under the supervision of Mr Boily: the Office of Technology Transfer, the Cooperative Education, the Continuous Education, the Technological Entrepreneurship Centre and The Innovation Hub. Mr. Boily was also responsible for several special projects, including the Quartier de l’Innovation de Montréal.
