How to get to the EPFL Innovation Park

By plane and by train

Genève-Cointrin is the nearest international airport - around 60 minutes away by train from Lausanne main station. There is also a direct train from Zurich airport to Lausanne main station (2h30). From Basel EuroAirport, take the bus to Basel Central Station (15 minutes), then take the train to Bern and change at Lausanne Central Station (2h20). Alternatively, from Basel Central Station, take a train to Biel/Bienne and change there for a direct train to Lausanne main station (2h25).

Then from Lausanne, you can take the metro or the bus to the EPFL Campus.  

During peak hours:

Take the TL bus line 1 with a direct route to the EPFL Innovation Park from Lausanne train station. Terminus: EPFL-Colladon

Buses run on this section from Monday to Friday between 6.30am and 9am and between 3.30pm and 7pm, with a frequency of around 7.5 minutes.

Off-peak hours:

Take the train from Lausanne train station to Renens train station

Then take the Line M1 in the direction of “Lausanne Flon” and get off at "EPFL"

 

By public transport

The metro line M1 of the TL (Transports Lausannois) takes you from the center of Lausanne (Flon) or from Renens station to the EPFL.

Bus lines TL (Public Transport of the Lausanne area) and MBC (Transport Region Morges) run in western Lausanne:

  • MBC bus 701 (Echichens, Morges, Préverenges, EPFL, Bourdonnette-Lausanne)
  • MBC bus 705 (Lonay , Préverenges, Denges, Echandens, Ecublens, EPFL)
  • TL bus 31 (Renens-Gare, EPFL-UNIL, Saint-Sulpice, Venoge)
  • TL bus 1 (Lausanne-Gare, EPFL-Colladon) - Buses run on this section from Monday to Friday between 6.30am and 9am and between 3.30pm and 7pm, with a frequency of around 7.5 minutes

By car

Take the motorway A1 and follow directions for ‘Lausanne-Sud‘, exit ‘EPFL‘.

Parking places (paying) for visitors are available on the map here. The map also indicates the walking distance to the EPFL Innovation Park welcome desk in Building C.

As a visitor, please be aware that parking spaces indicated by the green ‘P’ symbol are reserved for the holders of a special card.

On foot

Once on the campus, follow the path as indicated on the map below.
