Sustainability Charter

The EPFL Innovation Park Sustainability Charter was launched in August 2021 to reinforce and share our commitment to sustainability and to engage our community of companies on the same journey. In July 2022, 20 companies, representing 616 employees, signed the Sustainability Charter.

Upgrading our energy mix

Most of the buildings at the EPFL innovation Park are connected to the EPFL electricity network. Since May 2022, the energy mix for the older ones has been upgraded to include 50% hydraulic and 50% photovoltaic energy, all supplied locally from sources in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. The target is to use 100% photovoltaic energy in the near future.

Bus line extension

The extension of the bus line TL1 to the EPFL Innovation Park has now been confirmed. The bus will take a direct route from Lausanne main train station to the new terminus located at the entrance of the Park on part of the existing Colladon parking area.  Work will take place in the fall and the line will be open as of February 2023.

Campus Express, meal delivery service

A pilot project for meal delivery by scooter started in June on the EPFL campus, in partnership with the Food Lab. Campus Express allows people to order a meal online from the EPFL Shop and have it delivered to the campus the next day. The delivery service is provided by EPFL students as part of a student job. Two of the many delivery points are located in the EPFL Innovation Park. The service is paused during the summer break and will start again on September.
